| Casa Pedro Lira, Santiago de Chile, Sebastián Irarrázaval La casa se articula entorno a tres eventos: un patio elevado sobre la calle, un recorrido mixto de escaleras y rampas que van del parking a la cubierta y un muro perimetral que define el territorio próximo de la casa. Su interior está colonizado por pilares, escaleras y lucarnas con suficiente presencia paea configurar por ellos mismos límites y tensiones del espacio. La planta es en "L" y ofrece a la calle una fachada muda que es sólo el reflejo del muro que confina el pequeño patio de los dormitorios y que tiene como fin el filtrar el ruido de los autos que pasan veloces tangentes al sitio. Por último, una variedad de elementos móviles permiten integrar o segregar los recintos a voluntad
The house is organized around three events: Firstly, a patio over street level, secondly, a promenade composed of ramps and staircases that goes from de parking to the roof garden and thirdly, a perimeter wall that defines the domesticated territory of the house. Its interior space is characterized by the colonization of elements like: the oblique pillars that takes the horizontal efforts of potential earthquakes, the prefabricated skylights that introduce light to the deepest part of the house and the ramps. Those elements altogether create boundaries and tensions within the space. The plan is L shape with public and private areas in each segment. Regarding the expression of the house, it offers a silent façade
to the street, which is no more than the simple echo of the wall that
confines the small patio of the sleeping rooms. This elongated patio
works as a filter towards the noisy movement of cars that pass tangent
to the site.
